Guy I. Church, 70, 2227 Avenue G, died Thursday at a Lincoln, NE, hospital after a long illness. He was a retired carpenter and contractor. Religious association was with the Holy Family Church, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. Church was a member of the United Spanish War Veterans, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Moose. A native of Lindon, IL, he had been a resident of Council Bluffs for 22 years.
Survivors are his widow, Olive C.; two sons, James W. of Washington D.C. and Victor B. of Salt Lake City, Utah; two daughters, Mrs. Jack Andresen of Council Bluffs and sister Mary Dominic of Dubuque; four brothers, Claude of Gobles, Michigan; Lee of Plainville, Michigan, Loyal of Kalamazoo, Michigan, and Merle of Bristol, Indiana; a sister, Mrs. Roy Newton of Galesburg, Michigan, and three grandchildren.
Requiem mass will be offered Saturday at Holy Family Church, the Rev. William Coughlan, celebrant. Burial will be at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.
