"DEAD MAN" IS JAILED

"Walking Corpse" Fails to Win Courts Sympathy

Judge Daniel H. Sheehan in municipal court Saturday sentenced a "dead man" to serve fifteen days in the county jail.

John Kelly, 59, a hobo, was the victim. He was charged with drunkenness and admitted his own demise when he faced the judge. "I know you gave me a chance yesterday and I got drunk again," said Kelly. "but I'm a dead man judge; a walking corpse; if you send me to jail you'll have to bury me."

"We'll furnish the flowers," commented the judge.
