Funeral services for JOHN DENNY, former slave and G.A.R. veteran who died Sunday evening, were held yesterday at the residence, 1102 Seventh Avenue. Almost as many white people as those of his own race were present. Flowers almost buried the casket, and a large flag was draped over the body.

At Fairview Cemetery, the remains were laid to rest in the space reserved for old soldiers. The G.A.R. had charge of the burial service.
