Lawrence Gilbert Killed Overseas

Mrs. Lillie Gilbert, 2546 Avenue A, received a telegram from the war department, Washington D.C., Wednesday evening announcing the death in action overseas of her son, Private LAWRENCE GILBERT, member of Company L, 168th infantry. He was 19 years of age and was born at Horton, Kansas. He served with the company on the Mexican border and left with it for overseas at the time it was ordered abroad.

Besides his mother, he is survived by the following brothers and sisters: Mrs. G.E. Middleton, 2546 Avenue G; Walter Cook, 2546 Avenue G; Mrs. Corda Jones, King City, Missouri; Leroy Cook, Mitchell, Nebraska and Henry Cook, St. Joseph, Missouri.
