Peter Heft, aged 74 years, an old soldier, died at Mercy Hospital early Saturday morning, after a month’s illness with spinal trouble.

He leaves six children, Mrs. J. W. Hurd of Lewis Township; Mrs. Della Downs of Neola; Mrs. Mary Gilpen and Mrs. Jessie Powell, both of this city; W. P. Heft, also of Council Bluffs, and Charles Heft of Morris, Canada.

The body was taken to Woodring’s undertaking rooms and will be taken Sunday morning to Underwood, where the funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. at the Underwood Methodist Church. Rev. F. C. Tyler of Neola will conduct the services and burial will be in Fisher Cemetery.
