THE OBITUARY OFCharles J. Howard |
Charles J. Howard of the air force was killed in action while serving as a co-pilot on a B-26 on his 53rd mission over Nuberg, Germany, according to word received by his mother, Mrs. Grace Howard, 809 Commercial. Mrs. Howard first received word the lieutenant was missing in action on April 26, 1945, and later that he was killed the same date. Lt. Howard entered the army in February 1943, and had been overseas since December 1944. He graduated from St. Francis High School in 1940. He is survived by his mother and three sisters.
