THE OBITUARY OFMary Jane Irons |
Mary Jane Irons, widow of Edward Irons, died at 8:30 o'clock yesterday morning at her home, 310 N. Second Street, after an illness of eight weeks. The deceased had been suffering from a complication of diseases, but was thought to be progressing nicely toward recovery when the grip set in, and to this, in her weakened condition, she finally succumbed.
Mrs. Irons was a native of Lincolnshire, England, coming to this country with her widowed mother in 1868, and has lived in Council Bluffs and vicinity ever since.
In 1875 she was married to Edward Irons, an elder in the First Baptist church, who died twelve years ago. Four children blessed their union, three dying in infancy, and the son, Ernest surviving his mother. He, with the deceased's sister, Miss Sharp, was a devoted watcher at his mother's bedside.
Mrs. Irons had been for many years a devout and valued member of the First Baptist Church, a teacher in the Sunday school and in many ways contributing to the church work.
The funeral will occur from the residence tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Interment at Fairview. (Section B., Lot 108)
