Class Poem:

FOR THE GOOD OF ALL

Humanity hath called our sons

To wage the war of Right,

That justice may prevail against

The wrongful rule of Might.

A nation's strength and wealth we give

To make the whole world free

From autocratic rule, and end

The scourge of tyranny.

Enlightened nations with us stand

In righteous cause combined,

Against the monster, "Self,"enthroned,

A menace to mankind.

And all, their blood and treasure give,

And war's grim horrors face,

Nor ask one tithe in recompense

For service to the race.

And this the lesson of our time,

Their sacrifice hath taught,

By giving up of self for all

The greater good is wrought.

And from the consecrated lives

Of those, who, fighting, fall,

We take their motto for our own,

"To Serve the Good of All."
