THE OBITUARY OFNoah D. James |
Noah D. James, 69, retired cabinetmaker, 2700 Second Avenue, died at 8:15 a.m. Monday in a local hospital following a week's illness of paralysis. Born June 9, 1869, in Missouri, Mr. James had been a resident of Council Bluffs practically his entire life. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by five sons, Arthur W., Ralph E., and Willard James all of Council Bluffs; Wallace James of Omaha and Donald James of Racine, Wisconsin; two daughters, Mrs. R.R. Burns of Flint, Michigan and Mrs. Carl A. Homan of Council Bluffs; two brothers, Levi James of Des Moines, Iowa and Andrew James of council Bluffs; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Berg of Portland, Oregon and Mrs. William Martin and Mrs. Lena Hurd of Council Bluffs; fourteen grandchildren and one great grandchild. The body is at the Cutler Mortuary.
Funeral services for Noah D. James wee held Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at the Cutler chapel. Music was furnished by Mrs. O.E. Damon, Mrs. Carl Ford and Mrs. Gordon Gray. The Rev. Gordon Gray officiated. Pallbearers were William Dailey, E.A. Durick, H.S. Kelley, Floyd Lawson, Carl Hurd and Samuel Hurd. Burial was in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
