DR. C.H. JEFFERIS, OLD RESIDENT, DIES

Dentist Had Undergone Operation for Appendicitis

Dr. Charles H. Jefferis, 56, 124 South First Street, died at an Omaha hospital early Thursday morning following a sickness of five days. He had undergone an operation for appendicitis.

Dr. Jefferis had been a resident of Council Bluffs all his life and was engaged in the practice of dentistry in the Merriam block.

He was a member of the Yorkrite Masons, Council Bluffs Lodge No. 71, A.F. & A.M., the Royal Arch masons, Ivanhoe Commandery, Knights Templar and the Abu Bekr Shrine at Sioux City, Iowa.

He leaves his widow, Mrs. C.H. Jefferis; one brother, Will A. Jefferis, Harrison, Nebraska; two sisters, Mrs. Carl Mueller, Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Mrs. Vada Porter, Omaha.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock at Cutler's Chapel. Bluff City Lodge, A.F. & A.M. will have charge of the services at the grave. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery.

Vinnie and Charles Jefferis are buried in Fairview Cemetery, Section C, Lot 18. Mary (Dollinger) Smith, first wife of George Franklin Smith is buried next to them. Perhaps George Franklin Smith is buried there also……. OR, is he buried in Section C, Lot 10, Fairview Cemetery with his parents, Sylvester and Elizabeth Smith
