Catherine E. Johansen, 77, widow of August Johansen, died of pneumonia at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mike Kadel, following an illness of one week. Mrs. Johansen was born in Germany but had been a resident of the United States since 1872. She was a member of the Minden Congregational Church.

She is survived by two sons, Henry and Rdulph of Minden; one daughter, Mrs. Kadel; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Krueger and Mrs. Bertha Hinsch of Germany; four brothers, Gustave Wulff of Argentina, Yoachum Wulff of Germany, and Herman and John Wulff of Alberta, Canada; sixteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
