LEWIS GREEN JONES, was born on August 8, 1841 in Green Castle, Indiana. He died at his home, four miles southwest of Loveland on Sunday, February 19. He came to Loveland with his parents, two sisters and two brothers in 1858.

One June 18, 1863, he married Elizabeth Martin. Two children were born, a son and a daughter, and on the same farm Mr. Jones resided for over sixty years.

His wife and both children preceded him in death; his eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren are left. His health had been failing for several months, but nothing could persuade him to leave the farm, which had been his for so many years.

Funeral services were conducted from the house by Rev. J.Q. Jones of the Primitive Baptist Church. Music was furnished by Mrs. George Palmer and Mrs. Mack Fouts of the Methodist Church. Burial was in the Branson Cemetery.
