Former Council Bluffs resident Ira A. Kennedy, 86, died Tuesday at a Knoxville hospital. Kennedy was a mail carrier in Council Bluffs for 35 years. He moved to Knoxville about four years ago.

Survivors include a son, Paul of Council Bluffs; daughters, Margerie Swanson of Omaha and Elinor Rodgers of Knoxville; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Walnut Hill Cemetery in Council Bluffs.
