Clyde Kilgore


Hold Services for Clyde Kilgore Today

Memorial services will be held this afternoon at Epworth Methodist Church for Clyde Kilgore, son of Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Kilgore, who died from wounds September 1, 1918. His parents received word of their son's death a year ago today. He was wounded August 21, died next day in Field Hospital No 127, and was buried at Ressons le Long, Chateau Montois Aisnes by Chaplain Willis.

Clyde Kilgore was born at Carson, thirty miles east of Council Bluffs, January 20, 1897. When he was 7 years old his parents removed to this city, where he lived until the time of his enlistment, June 6, 1917. He went into Company C, Sixth Nebraska, and was sent to Camp Cody. He became an expert automatic rifleman in Company K, 134th infantry, and was sent to France with a replacement draft, where he entered Company B, 128th Infantry.
