William H.D. Kuhl, 77, 209 McGee, died Sunday at a local hospital after a long illness. Mr. Kuhl was born in Walnut and has lived in Council Bluffs for the past 54 years. He owned and operated a grocery store on McGee Avenue and Harrison Street from 1945 to 1956. After selling the store, Mr. Kuhl was a meat cutter in the former People's Store. He retired in 1973.

Survivors include his wife, Althea "Babe"; one son, Richard of Bedford, NH; one brother, Vernon of Bend, OR; three sisters, Mrs. Wilhelmina Winstein of Napa, CA, Geraldine Seitz of San Leanardo, CA, and Henrietta Stover or Aloha, OR; and three grandchildren.
