Edwin Lindsay

Unit K men who served as pallbearers in France for the body of their dead comrade, Edwin Lindsay, Council Bluffs youth, will be called upon to bear the body to its final resting place when funeral services are held here according to arrangements being made.

Lindsay is the grandson of J.R. Lindsay, 948 Perrin Avenue, dealers in hides. His body is in Hoboken and relatives are awaiting word of when it will be forwarded to Council Bluffs.

Lindsay served with Unit K, Mobile Hospital No. 1 in charge of Dr. Donald Macrae. He was in the signal service and was establishing communications when he was fatally wounded. At noon of July 4, 1918 Lindsay died while undergoing blood transfusion. Young Lindsay was well known here. He graduated from Council Bluffs High school in 1917.
