THE OBITUARY OFMary Ellen Longeway |
MARY ELLEN LONGEWAY, 1415 High Street, died Saturday at a local hospital after a three-month illness. A native of Kansas, she resided most of her life in Council Bluffs. She was the widow of Walter A. Longeway, who died in 1935. Mrs. Longeway was a member of St. Francis Church, its Altar Society and Alumni, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Licensed Practical Nurse Association.
Survivors include: daughter, Mrs. Edward (Gertrude) Leick of Council Bluffs; three sons, Dr. Walter Lonegway of Denver, Colorado, Capt. Kenneth Longeway, stationed at the Naval Academy at Annapolis, MD and Bernard Longeway of Santa Monica, California; sister, Mrs. R.O. Frost of Council Bluffs; 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Requiem Mass will be at 9 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Church. The Rt. Rev. Thomas J. Costin will be celebrant at his church.
Interment will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery. Rosary recitation will be at 8 p.m. Monday at the Beem-Belford Chapel.
