THE OBITUARY OFRuth Ann Madden |
Ruth Ann Madden, 82, of 324 Stutsman Street, died Friday at her home. Miss Madden who went by the nickname “Billie” was born in Council Bluffs. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1923. She received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Iowa State University and was a research assistant at the university. She returned to Council Bluffs and did clerical work from 1946 to 1958 at the Pottawattamie County Treasurer’s office. Miss Madden was a member of the United Methodist Women’s group. She was a portrait artist.
Several nieces and nephews living in Texas survive. She was preceded in death by a brother, Jerry, who was killed in Italy during World War II. Funeral arrangements are pending at Woodring Funeral Home.

Later she worked as a clerk for the Pottawattamie County Treasurer’s office. She was a member of Broadway United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women’s Group.
Her only survivors are a niece and a nephew and great nieces and great nephews.
Funeral services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at the Woodring Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. James Poulsen, pastor of Broadway United Methodist church, will officiate.
Burial will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Broadway United Methodist Church. Visitation is from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
