MARTIN MANHARDT, a farmer residing southeast of Minden fell from the top of a load of hay Saturday evening, striking the hard ground with the back part of his head, injuring him so that his body became paralyzed. He was immediately brought to town and a doctor did what he could to relieve him, but he passed away Sunday evening.

Deceased was a widower, his wife having died several years ago. He leaves two children, a boy 13 years of age and a girl about 8, two brothers in this country and one in Switzerland.
