John Martens


John Martens

John Martens, 74, retired prominent farmer and landowner and a resident of Washington Township for more than a half century died at his home Thursday morning after a lingering illness of several months.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at the home in Persia and at the Congregational Church in Minden. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery. Mr. Martens moved to Persia where he has kept an active interest in his land holdings.

Surviving are his widow and two children, Mrs. Dora Stamp and John, both of Persia; three grandchildren; one brother, Gus of Persia, two sisters, Mrs. Emma Stamp of Persia and Mrs. Ida Aleck of Omaha.
