Elsie Leona Owen Mason, 53, died Tuesday at local hospital. She was reported to have been ill with cancer for nearly five years. Mrs. Mason was a lifelong resident of Council Bluffs and a member of the First Christian Church. She had been employed at Blue Star Produce until recently.

Survivors include: three daughters, Marilyn, Mary Lou and Walline of Council Bluffs; three sisters, Mrs. Helen Hough, Mrs. Ethel Larvie, and Mrs. Alice Thorpe all of Council Bluffs; four brothers, William, Fred, Edward, and George Owen all of Council Bluffs.

Funeral services will be held at the Woodring Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Judson Perkins of St. Marks Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
