THE OBITUARY OFPliny McBride |
Funeral services for Pliny McBride, 85, Route 4, Glendale Acres, will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Woodring Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Moore Bell, pastor of Bethany United Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be at the Crescent Cemetery. McBride died friday afternoon following a two car accident north of Council Bluffs. The Iowa Highway Patrol said McBride was a passenger in a car driven by Beecher Gilmore, 65, of Route 4. The Gilmore car and an auto driven by Stanley Kern, 20, of 1700 Avenue B, collided about two miles north of Highway 6 on Highway 191.
Gilmore was in guarded condition Saturday at Mercy Hospital with head and chest injuries. Kern was in satisfactory condition at Mercy Hospital with multiple cuts and bruises.
McBride was born in Monticello and had ranched in Colorado for a number of years. He had farmed in Glendale Acres until his retirement. He was a World War I veteran and was a member of VFW Post 737.
Survivors include his widow, Mary; two brothers, Nelson, Route 4, and Joseph, Council Bluffs.
