THE OBITUARY OFWilliam J. McCune |
The funeral of William J. McCune, who was killed by a freight train in the Northwestern yards Monday afternoon, was held from the residence, 230 Graham Avenue, at 2 o'clock yesterday afternoon.
Rev. J.M. Williams, pastor of the Broadway Methodist church, was in charge of the services at the home. Rev. O.O. Smith, pastor of the First Congregational Church and chaplain of the local lodge of Elks, assisted by the officers and members of the lodge, had charge of the services at the grave. About 100 members of the lodge met at the residence and escorted the body to Walnut Hill cemetery, where ritualistic services of the order were held. The following members of the local lodge of Elks acted as pall bearers: Painter Knox, M.B. Grout, J.W. Mitchell, F.C. Hendricks, L. Zurmuehlen and Joseph Wallace.
