THE OBITUARY OFGeorge Albert Mehling |
GEORGE ALBERT MEHLING, 77, retired tram company motorman, died at a local hospital Thursday morning of stomach trouble after an illness of several weeks.
Mr. Mehling was a native of Maryland. He was a resident of Council Bluffs for forty-seven years, forty-one of which he was an employee of the Omaha and Council Bluffs Street Railway Company. He lived at 2520 West Broadway. He was a member of the Holy Family Catholic Church and the Council Bluffs Aerie of the Fraternal Order of eagles.
Surviving him are his widow, Mrs. Anna Mehling; two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Gilmore, at home, and Mrs. B.A. McCreary of Norfolk, Nebraska; one son, J.L. Mehling of Sacramento, California.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at Woodring's Funeral Home. Father William Coughlan will be in charge. The Eagles Lodge also will hold services at the Chapel. The body will be taken to Forest Lawn Cemetery, Omaha, for cremation.
