MRS. Marie Meyer of Oakland died at the home of her cousin, Mrs. Jacob Mueller in Avoca Wednesday evening, April 21. The body was taken to Oakland for burial. The funeral services were held from her home in Oakland.

Mrs. Meyer accompanied by her son, came to Avoca to consult a doctor. She was told she should go to the hospital at once. She said she had not been sick all winter and did not want to go to a hospital. She was told she should go to bed and be quiet. She went to the home of her cousin, Mrs. Jacob Mueller, where she died in less than two hours after consulting the doctor.
