John Meyer, aged 70 years, died at 9:30 o'clock Friday night at his home in Underwood of cancer.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Christina Meyer, one daughter, Mrs. John Cohen, and four sons, John of Minden, George and Walter of Blackle, Can., and Julius of Underwood, and by twelve grandchildren.

Mr. Meyer is a retired farmer. He was born in Germany and came to this county when he was 15 years old, about 1867. He lived at Creston, Iowa, for a time, then moving to Minden about forty one years ago and to Underwood about twenty eight years ago. He helped to establish the Lutheran church at Minden.

The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from his home and at 2:30 o'clock from the Latter Day Saints' Church at Underwood, Rev. Vammer of the Danish Lutheran Church of Boomer Township officiating. Burial will be in the Fisher Cemetery.
