William H. "Bill" Miller, 78, of Underwood, died Thursday at home following a long illness. He was a retired Underwood councilman, fire chief and mechanic. Mr. Miller was born in Mineola.

He is survived by his wife, Cora; son, Richard, both of Underwood, and two half sisters, Mrs. Geraldine Kruse of Glenwood and Mrs. Lorene Scheel of Omaha and two grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Meyer Funeral home. The Rev. Gregory Bjornstad, pastor of the Underwood Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial will be in the Underwood Fisher cemetery.
