Harry E. Moran, Sr.

HARRY E. MORAN, Sr., 66, 718 Seventh Avenue, died Sunday in a local hospital of a heart ailment. He had been ill three weeks. Moran served on the civil service commission here six years, ending his term in March 1951. He has also held the city and county chairmanship of the Democratic Party. A general car foreman for the Great Western Railroad, Moran this year marked 50 years of railroading. He was born in Council Bluffs and spent his entire life here.

Moran was a member of the Car Foreman's Association. Supervisors Association of America, brotherhood of Railway Carman's Association, Bluff City Lodge 93, Car Foreman's Association of Omaha and Council Bluffs, Macabees, Knights of Columbus and St. Francis Xavier's Catholic Church.

Survivors are: widow, Alice; four daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Billingsley of Council Bluffs, Mrs. Alyce Morris of Falls Church, Virginia, Mrs. Margaret Maxwell of Canton, Illinois and Mrs. Verna Enzminger of Wrightsvirlie, North Carolina; son Harry E., Moran, Jr. of Council Bluffs; sister, Mrs. Agnes Ward of Council Bluffs and six grandchildren.

Rosaries will be recited in the home Monday at 8 p.m. by the St. Francis Alumni Association, by Knights of Columbus Tuesday at 8 p.m. and by Holy Name Society at 8:15 p.m. The body will remain at the home until time of service.

Funeral Services

Funeral services for Harry E. Moran, Sr., 66, 718 Seventh Avenue, who died Sunday in a local hospital, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Francis Church. Requiem Mass will be celebrated by Msgr. James B. Danahey. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery. The St. Francis Altar Society will recite the rosary for Moran at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The body will be at the Moran residence until the time of service. Beem-Belford Funeral Home in charge.
