THE OBITUARY OFJoseph Needham |
The remains of JOSEPH NEEDHAM, who was run over and killed in the Rock Island yards early yesterday morning, will be taken to the old home at Beloit, Wisconsin, this morning for burial. He leaves a mother, three sisters and two brothers. He had made his home with Mrs. Byron T. Smith, one of his sisters, at 1723 High Street for some time past. The other sisters are Mrs. C. Flint and Mrs. James L. Packard of Stevens Point, Wisconsin. The brothers are John T. Needham of Beloit and George Needham of Milwaukee.
Corner Treynor decided that no inquest was necessary. The clothing and a portion of the body being wedged tightly in a switch frog leads to the belief that Needham's foot became caught and prevented him from getting out of the way of a switch engine which backed over him. No one saw the accident and it is believed it took place some little time before his body was discovered by the crew of an incoming passenger train.
The deceased was 40 years of age and unmarried.
