THE OBITUARY OFOlin E. Osborn |
Olin E. Osborn, 75, farmer and former county supervisor, died Saturday at his home, 513 Beech Street. Death was due to coronary thrombosis. He had been ill for two months.
He was prominent for many years in farming circles of Pottawattamie County. Mr. Osborn was a native of Winchester, Va, where he was born March 4, 1858. He came to Iowa with his parents near the end of the Civil War and with his parents was camped near Glenwood when the news of the assassination of President Lincoln reached this section of the country. He lived in Pottawattamie County for most of his life. He retired from his farm in 1918 to move into Council bluffs. He was elected supervisor in 1927 and retired from the board in 1932.
Mr. Osborn is survived by his wife Carrie; three sons, Frank O. of Omaha, Earnest E. of Dalton, NE, and Charles L. of Council Bluffs; four daughters, Mrs. R.M. Hough of Weston, Mrs. A.M. Kester of Buffalo, Wyoming, Mrs. Olive Gienau of Dalton, NE, and Mrs. O.N. Engleman of Crook, CO; one sister, Mrs. Susan Prentice of Council Bluffs, and one brother George of route No. 5, Council Bluffs.
Burial will be in Hazel Dell Cemetery (Section B, Row 2, March 4, 1858-September 16, 1933)
