Platt Overton

Platt Overton, 80, 1109 Fourth Avenue, died at 5 a.m. Tuesday morning at his home after two and a half years' illness. Mr. Overton was the son of Captain A. Overton, and was born on a steamboat on the Missouri River. A wholesale lumber dealer, he had been a member of Council Bluffs Lodge No. 531, B.P.O.E., Council Bluffs Aerie No. 10, Fraternal Order of eagles and the Broadway Methodist Church. He is survived by one brother Charles of Los Angeles, one sister, Mrs. Mattie Drew, of Council Bluffs and a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Elmer Long. The body is at Woodring Funeral Home.
