Silver Paulus

Funeral services for Silver N. Paulus, 83, of Portland, OR, will be held at the Cutler Funeral Home Chapel. Lillian Sheiry, reader of the First Church of Christ Scientist, will officiate. Interment will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery.

Mrs. Paulus died Thursday in Portland after a short illness. She lived most of her live in Council Bluffs before moving to Portland in 1963. Mrs. Paulus was a candidate for mayor of Council Bluffs in 1938.

She was a retired Union Pacific Railroad employee and worked in the dining room of the Union Station. She was a member of the Mother church of Christ Scientist of Boston, MA; the Council Bluffs Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Military Order of the Cooties.

She is survived by a son, Robert Paulus of Portland; six daughters, Marian Kief of Bellevue, NE; Lucile Kilbane of Council Bluffs; Ruth Turner of Tacoma, WA; Mary Lynn Hulbert of Hillsboro, NM; Cheri West of Albuquerque, NM; Niralee Petersen of Hillsboro, NM; 30 grandchildren and 43 great grandchildren.
