THE OBITUARY OFLizzie May (Jepsen) Pedersen |
Lizzie May Pedersen was born near Elk Horn in Shelby County on November 11, 1889. She was the daughter of Peter and Margaret Jepsen. She one of 10 children.
On March 14, 1912 she was united in marriage of James Pedersen. They farmed in the Walnut and Shelby areas. They were the parents of 7 children. James passed away on November 15, 1967. Lizzie passed away on December 15, 1980 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs at the age of 91 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, 4 brothers; John, Charlie, Hans and Elmer Jepsen. She was also preceded by 3 sisters, Emma Ahrenkiel, Anna Nielsen and Martha Hoover.
She leaves to mourn her passing her 7 children, Thelman (Mrs. Fred) Namanny of Walnut, Beulah (Mrs. Ronald) Kadel of Minden, Irene Sievers of Omaha, LeRoy of Atlantic, Darlene (Mrs. Roy) Kay of Council Bluffs, Mable (Mrs. Donald) Schnitker of Minden and Glen of Storm Lake, 21 grand children and 38 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Millie Ahrenkiel and Ella Hess both of Elk Horn.
Services were at the Bethuson-Knutson Funeral Home in Avoca. Pastor Harry Thomsen officiated. Interment was in the Minden Cemetery.
