Mary "Thelma" Pickering, 89, of Council Bluffs died December 7. She was born in McClelland and graduated from McClelland High School in 1928. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Pickering was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde, on January 14, 1978.

Survivors include two daughters, Jane Joslin of Council Bluffs and Joyce Swanson of Omaha; seven grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Visitation was held Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Evan Williams of Broadway Christian Church officiating. Burial was Downsville Cemetery.
