Julia E. (Boehm) Proffit, 81, of Regal Towers died early Saturday morning in a Council Bluffs hospital. She was born at Dumfries and was a lifelong resident of Council Bluffs. Her husband, Pete F. Proffit died in 1977.

Surviving are one daughter, Neomi Goldapp of Council Bluffs; one son, Paul Hessel of Silver City; one brother, Henry Boehm of Council Bluffs; two sisters, Hedwig Heitman of Council Bluffs and Pauline Messerli of Omaha; eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
