Dixie (Williams) Prouty, 48, 926 Third Avenue, died at a local hospital after a short illness. Death was due to a heart disease. Mrs. Prouty was a lifelong resident of Council Bluffs. She was a member of the Broadway Christian Church, the Women of the Moose and a former member of the Auxiliary to Rainbow Post No. 2, American Legion.

She is survived by husband, Thomas, former deputy city assessor; two brothers, Park Williams of Council Bluffs, and Dick Williams of Colfax; sister, Mrs. Verna Felsberg of Dayton, Ohio; father, Dr. Park Williams of Council Bluffs.

Funeral services will be held at the Meyer Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Fred Coley of Broadway Christian Church and the Rev. Philip Durham of First Christian Church will officiate. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery.
