George Reesy, a resident of this place (Minden) for many years, passed away Sunday afternoon at 4:15 o'clock, after an illness of about four weeks. Deceased at the time of his death was 82 years and 10 days old.

Leaving his native country, Switzerland, at the age of 16 years, he arrived in the United States sixty-six years ago, settling in Scott County, Iowa.

He leaves his aged wife, three daughters -- Mrs. Peter Bader of Dysart, Iowa; Mrs. John Christiansen and Mrs. Henry Stude of Minden - and two sons, John U. living in Wyoming, and Chris at Bentley, Iowa, and a brother at Kiron, Iowa.
