THE OBITUARY OFPFC Martin Renteria |
The body of Pfc. Martin Renteria, 23, who was killed in August 1944 in the European theater, will arrive here Thursday evening.
Private Renteria was the only Council Bluffs man of Mexican parentage to lose his life in World War II.
He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Renteria, 1707 South Third Street; a sister, Hope, and a brother, Antonio.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, the Right Rev. Msgr. James P. Danahey officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, where the Veterans of Foreign Wars will conduct military rites.
