Cpl. Elmer Reynolds

Cpl. Elmer Reynolds, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Carroll, 1223 Twenty First Avenue, was killed in action in France on August 16, according to word received here. Native of Council Bluffs, he was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School and before entering the service was a linotype operator in Chicago.

He arrived in Italy in January 1944, and was wounded on March 19, for which he received the purple heart.

He has three brothers overseas, S.Sgt. Donald and Sgt. Ronald Reynolds, both with the 34th division; Cpl. Richard Reynolds in Hawaii; a sister, Mrs. George Arterburn, and two other brothers, Jack and Bobby Carroll both of Council Bluffs.
