THE OBITUARY OFDr. Andrew A. Robertson |
Dr. Andrew A. Robertson, 73, 1006 Fifth Avenue, physician in Pottawattamie County for over half a century, died Monday in a local hospital. He was health officer for Council Bluffs from 1927-1938 and served on the Iowa State Board of Health for 11 years prior to 1928. He was on the staff of Jennie Edmundson Hospital until his retirement in 1942. From 1901 until coming here in 1914, Dr. Robertson practiced at Crescent. He was a surgeon for the Illinois Central, Union Pacific and Rock Island Railroads.
Dr. Robertson was a graduate of the college of medicine at Nebraska University and of the old Council Bluffs High School. He was born at Washington, Iowa. He was a member of city and county medical societies, the American Medical Association, Bluff City Masonic Lodge and the Scottish Rite Lodge in Omaha. He attended First Congregration Church. Dr. Robertson's father, the late Dr. J.C. Robertson, was also a physician. His widow is the former Claudia Ward of Neola.
Besides his widow, survivors are: two daughters, Mrs. Grant Melby of Mabel, Minnesota, and Mrs. J.A. Peterson of Homewood, Illinois; and three grandchildren.
Woodring's Funeral Home is in charge. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
