THE OBITUARY OFJames C. Ryan |
James C. Ryan, 78, 321 N. 9th St., died Saturday at a local hospital after a year's illness. A retired farmer, Mr. Ryan lived all but nine months of his life in Boomer Township. He moved to Council Bluffs last October and was a member of St. Francis Church. Mr. and Mrs. Ryan celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary in February.
He is survived by his widow, Lena; four sons, Arthur and Clarence of Council Bluffs, Leonard of Onawa, and Raymond of Missouri Valley; three daughters, Mrs. Francis Clark of Crescent, Mrs. J.F. Jacobson of Omaha and Mrs. M.F. Duffy of Council Bluffs; five sisters, Mrs. Mary Gilmore of Panorama, CA; Mrs. Hannah Wilson of Yankton, SD; Mrs. Bridget Gilmore of Council Bluffs; Mrs. Margaret Coyle of Chadron, NE; and Mrs. Stacia Mullen of Broken Bow, NE; twenty grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Requiem mass will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis Church for James C. Ryan, 78, of 321 N. 9th St. Msgr. James P. Danahey, pastor, will celebrate the mass. Burial will be at St. Bridget's Cemetery, Honey Creek. The Altar Society of St. Francis will recite the Rosary at 8:30 p.m., Monday at the Beem-Belford Funeral Home. Mr. Ryan, a retired farmer, died Saturday at a local hospital after a year's illness.
