William E. Ryan

William E. Ryan, 70, veteran of 40 years in show business, died Friday night at a local convalescent home after several months illness. Mr. Ryan was born in Mills County and was famous throughout the west for his "Punch and Judy" and puppet shows and was billed as "The Man With the Wooden Family." He was a member of I.O.O.F. Lodge No. 49 and the Woodmen of the World.

Surviving are a son, William A. Ryan of Sioux Falls, SD and a sister, Mrs. Ed Gamet of Denver, CO. The funeral will be Monday at 2 p.m. at Woodring's Chapel with Rev. Roy M. Smith of Salem Evangelical church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park.
