Harry Schmidt, 80, in the photography business in Council Bluffs for 62 years, died in a local hospital of pneumonia. He resides at 213 Grace Street. Born April 24, 1865 at New York City, Mr. Schmidt came to Council Bluffs when he was 18 years old. He was a member of the First Congregational Church.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. William R. Foster and Mrs. Philip B. Freyder of Council Bluffs; one brother, Edward Schmidt of Brooklyn, NY; one sister, Mrs. C.B. Bierschenk of Jamaica, New York; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

The body will lie in state at the Cutler Funeral Home until the funeral. The Rev. J.R. Perkins will officiate. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
