Maira D. Schultz

A telegram from Meridan, Idaho, to John F. Schultz of this city informed him of the death of his mother, Mrs. J.H. Schultz, (Maira D.), Saturday. It stated that the body would be shipped here for the funeral service and burial.

Mrs. Schultz was a former resident of this county, having lived in Lewis Township for thirty-five years. She was well known to a large circle of friends in the city and county. Mrs. Schultz was born in Schleswig-Holstein, Germany, and came to this country in 1858, settling at Davenport, Iowa. In 1881 she came with the family to Council Bluffs. She was 87 years of age when she died.

Mrs. Schultz leaves besides her husband five sons and two daughters. The sons are John F. and H.M. Schultz of Council Bluffs; J.C. Schultz, Meridan, Idaho, and George and E.T. Schultz of Indianapolis, Oklahoma. The daughters are Mrs. Annie Schnoor of Indianapolis, Oklahoma and Mrs. Maggie Vaughn of Nampa, Idaho.

Funeral

The funeral of Mrs. Mary Schultz, who died December 26 at Meridian Idaho was held from the residence of her son, J.F. Schultz, Meadowbrook Farm, Lewis Township at 1 o'clock, and from the German Lutheran Church at 2 o'clock. Rev. Lange conducting both services. Mrs. Lange, Mrs. Meyer, Mrs. Lehman and Mrs. Schrock furnished music.

The pallbearers were her grandsons. They were Lewis, Oscar, Harry and Edward Schultz and William and Otto Rusch.
