After walking to Mercy Hospital to place himself under a doctor's care for the first time in his life, Peter J. Scoular, 76, entered the hospital never to leave it alive. He died Wednesday afternoon, having entered the hospital December 18.

Mr. Scoular came to Council Bluffs from Bismarck, ND, four years ago and settled on a farm on Route 5 where he has since resided.

He leaves two daughters, Mrs. Isabel M. Fowler of Bismrck, ND and Mrs. Amanda M. Fowler of Lock Ontario, Canada; two sons, William T. Scoular of Lemon, SD, and James P. Scoular, Route 5, Coucil Bluffs; twenty two grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Sarah Duncan of Ridgetown, Ontario, Canada and Mrs. Margaret Baccaus of Idaho, and a brother, Thomas Scoular of Rock Rapids.

Mr. Scoular was a member of the ChristianChurch.
