FRANK SEIDLER, Sr., 81, of No. 10 Greenbriar, died Thursday at a Council Bluffs hospital after an extended illness.
Seidler was born on a farm between Council Bluffs and Neola, and was a lifetime resident of this area. He engaged in cattle feeding and farming operations until his retirement in 1952. He had also been honored by the Omaha Livestock Commission as a "pioneer feeder."
A charter member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, he was also a member of the Elks Club and had served a number of years as a trustee for Garner Township.
He and his wife, Edna, celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary February 16.
Survivors besides his widow include: two sons, Frank Seidler, Jr. of rural Council Bluffs and Donald Seidler of Katonah, New York; two daughters, Mrs. Margaret E. Finn of Council Bluffs and Mrs. Frances M. Sherman of Williford, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Celebration of Mass of the Resurrection will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Catholic Church. The Rev. Gerald J. Stessman will officiate, with interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Prior to the funeral Mass the family will meet friends at the Meyer Funeral Home at 9:14 a.m. Monday for a prayer service. Recitation of the rosary by the Catholic Daughters will be at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the Meyer Funeral Home, followed by an 8 p.m. Sunday scripture service by Fr. Stessman.
