Patrick Sharkey

PATRICK SHARKEY, 90, resident of Council Bluffs since 1883, a retired veteran employee of the Burlington Railroad, died Tuesday at 10:55 p.m. at the family residence at 217 Tenth Avenue. Death followed an illness of one year. Mr. Sharkey has been employed by the Burlington Railroad for fifty-three years. He was a department foreman. He was born June 6, 1842 in Ireland.

He is survived by: his widow, a son, Andrew Sharkey, and a daughter, Jennie Sharkey, both of Council Bluffs, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

The body will lie in state at the residence from 4 p.m. Wednesday until the hour of the funeral, which will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Francis Xavier's Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Cutler Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
