On Sunday night, at about 12 o'clock, occurred the death of JOHN SHULTZ, who lived about two miles east of town, of lung trouble.

Deceased was 56 years of age, and had been a resident of Davenport for nearly a quarter of a century. He came to this county last march and purchased a farm, and was a hardworking, industrious citizen.

He was the father of John Shultz, Jr., formerly a barber here, but now of Shelby. The deceased was also an uncle of Henry Seivers.

The burial took place Monday at two o'clock.
