Alfred Sick

Alfred Sick, youngest of ten children of John and Catherine Sick, passed away February 28 at the Mercy Hospital in Council bluffs at the age of 57 years and two months. He was born on a farm northwest of Avoca, December 28, 1899.

He was united in marriage to Frieda Johanna Schmidt on June 6, 1928. To this union were born four sons, Edwin Alfred, Wilbert Carl, Melvin John and Alfred, Jr. Mrs. Sick passed away July 26, 1950. On March 24, 1953, he was united in marriage to Mrs. Ida Sharrett of Council Bluffs.

Mr. Sick is survived by his wife, Ida, four sons, Edwin and Alfred, Jr. at home, Melvin who is attending college at Blair, NE, and Wilbert stationed at San Antonio, TX in the service of his country, also a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Wilbert Sick and one grandson, Brion Kim Sick. He is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Lloyd Croft of Kirkman, Iowa and four brothers, John and Louis of Avoca, Amil of Neola, and Frank of Harlan, and a host of relatives and friends.
