Sherman E. Spoor

Sherman E. Spoor, 67, 203 South First Street, general labor foreman for the Union Pacific Railroad, died suddenly shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday while making his regular morning round of inspection. Death was due to heart diseases. Spoor had arrived at the Union Pacific Transfer shortly before 7 o'clock. His usual morning round of inspection had just started. Walking into a small room he collapsed. He was dead when fellow employees reached him.

He had been a member of the Union Pacific Old-Timers' Club, a past master of Excelsior Lodge, A.F. & A.M., a member of Council Bluffs Chapter No. 441, Order of Eastern Star, and an employee of the railroad for forty years. He was a native of Council Bluffs.

Surviving him are his widow Cora B. Spoor; two daughters, Mrs. Clay Cockran of Portland, Oregon and Mrs. Mildred Adams of Los Angeles, and one brother J.W. Spoor of Kansas City.
